Tipsoo Lake and Yakima Peak... taken from Hwy 410 just south of Chinook Pass.

Shortly after leaving highway 410 at Chinook Pass we see our target and will head for the ridge on the far right.

Denali Girl is almost to the ridge... it's not a maintained trail, but the path is good.

Rainier appears when we reach the ridge.

From the ridge we get a good view of the 6000' bump north of Yakima Peak.

From the ridge we get nice views of the Sunrise area... First & Second Burroughs, Freemont, Dege, Marcus, and The Palisades.

From the ridge we can see the north side of Yakima Peak... with Yakima's summit on the left, the plan is to head for the two rock outcroppings on the right and then use the west ridge to reach the summit.

Denali Girl is heading for the two rock outcroppings... and then...

We notice an obvious gully heading up towards the summit area... forget the rock outcroppings on Yakima's west ridge, we are going to use this gully.

We reach the top of the gully and take a look back down it... there is a little bit of Class 3 in the gully.

From Yakima's summit... left to right in front of Rainier are the Cowlitz Chimneys, Barrier Peak, Govenors Ridge, and Tamanos Mtn... Second & Third Burroughs Mtn are on Rainier's right.

Denali Girl decides to make it a loop trip and starts down the gully on the south side of Yakima Peak.

Looking back up the gully on Yakima's south side... this gully is much easier than the gully on the north side.

After finishing the south gully we head to the east to close the loop.

We've closed the loop and it's time to drop down to the main trail.

We did a lot of blueberry grazing on our way back to the main trail.
