rodman's GPS route for Judy's Peak and Mary's Peak

A half-mile from the trailhead we took Trail 1391.1 and headed up the Bean Creek drainage.

rodman, Nanda, and Denali Girl joined me for this trip.

A quarter mile from the Beverly/Bean intersection we cross Bean Creek on a makeshift bridge.

Continuing on the melted out trail after crossing Bean Creek.

A quarter-mile after crossing the first avalanche chute, we left the main trail and headed north on fairly steep terrain.

At approximately 5500 feet, we get our first good look at Earl Peak (7036').

rodman starts up the final 600 feet of elevation gain that will get us to the ridge.

Denali Girl is almost to the ridge... this south facing slope was almost snow-free.

After reaching the ridge, Nanda prays while the rest of us soak up the panorama view of the peaks that surround Bean Creek Basin... Judy's Peak on the left, Mary's Peak just to the right of Judy's... Bean Peak in the center... and Earl Peak on the right... in the distance, the top of the Stuart Range is in the clouds.

Time to leave Judy's Peak and head north along the ridge to Mary's Peak.

Denali Girl doing some boulder work along the ridge... going from Judy's Peak to Mary's Peak was the most difficult part of the trip for us... it would have probably been easier to stay in the snow on the right side of the ridge line.

Just after leaving the boulders we run into GeoTom, wife Dani, and dog Jasper... they were coming down from Mary's Peak.
